This immersive training is designed for yoga practitioners and teachers eager to deepen their understanding and refine their skills in inversions, with a special focus on the elusive handstand. Whether you’re looking to elevate your personal practice or bring new insights to your teaching, this course offers the tools and guidance you need to progress with confidence.

With 18+ hours of hands-on practice and lectures, you’ll gain a profound understanding of the physical mechanics, mental focus, and anatomy required for inversions. Alex will guide you through the universal progression that leads towards mastery, with the embodiment of key actions as a central tenant ; learning to ultimately unlearn.

Teaching Insights:

  • Foundations of Balance: Explore the essential roles of your hands, shoulders, core, and legs in achieving stability.

  • Progression Techniques: Develop arm support, refine balance calibration, and master various entry points into inversions.

  • Advanced Shapes & Transitions: Once the basics are consolidated, dive into more complex poses and seamless transitions, allowing the practice to expand and inspire.

Day 1: Friday, 14th of November:
Foundations (14:15-17:15): Get comfortable being inverted. Understand the role of your hands
Creating Space (18:15-21:15): Fundamentals of anatomy. Mobility Practice : open the shoulders and hips

Day 2: Saturday, 15th of November:
Deepening (13:-00-16:00):
Consolidate foundational elements of balance and refine entry techniques.
Floating (17:00-20:00): Explore the concept of “the press” — finding effortless balance through alignment and flexibility

Day 3: Sunday, 16th of November:
Adding Complexity (10:00-13:00):
Push past your boundaries with advanced shapes and transitions as you step closer to mastery
Developing a Self-Practice (14:00-17:00): Learn how to design a personalized practice that supports long-term growth in inversions

About Alex Perez

Alex is a yoga teacher and a licensed medical doctor. Over the course of his apprenticeship, Alex developed his own way of teaching yoga, a non-rigid and modern form based on a scientific understanding of movement and of the body. His classes contain elements from many styles of yoga along with his unique touch of creativity and play.

Alex uses his profound anatomical and physiological knowledge to adapt his guidance to the unique physiognomy of each of his students, herewith creating a safe environment for all to freely express their body wisdom through movement. Alex teaches workshops, trainings and festivals internationally. He is currently based in Berlin, Germany.
